Hazard River by J.E. Fison

SCHOOL VISITS

School and Festival Visits

J.E. Fison was a television reporter, presenter and features writer before becoming an author. The idea of writing children's fiction crept up on her during a family holiday on the Noosa River. Her two sons teamed up with friends and spent the summer holidays exploring sand banks, dodging sting rays, avoiding snakes and generally having a Boys Versus Wild adventure.  She was inspired.

Julie conducts workshops and talks on turning real life into really fun, action-packed stories. If you would like Julie to visit your school or festival, you can contact her here or visit

"Fison's writing is fresh, tight, and easily absorbed. Action and humour abound, and are the reasons this series works so well. While the message in these books is clear, it isn't preachy - nor is the humour forced. The child characters are well-developed, each with a distinct personality, which is something all too often glazed over in such short fiction."
